Gianni Berengo Gardin
Gianni Berengo Gardin is a well-known Italian photojournalistic photographer born in 1930. He photographed many things from architecture to landscapes.
Centre Pompidou, Paris, 1981
This photograph is made up of many elements. Gardin uses the hard lines of the building to bring definition to many subjects. This photo has a slightly architectural feel, but the way the lines of the frames capture many different stories makes it more personal and humanistic.

This photograph tells a story and captures a moment beautifully. The blurred motion of the passing vehicle in the background draws attention to the clear image of two lovers kissing. This technique is used by Gardin in many of his other works in order to draw all attention to his subjects.
Telephoto Lens- A telephoto lens is a lens with a fixed focal length. It is best used when taking portraits or other images that are up-close and detailed. With a fixed focal length, this lens allows you to adjust the focus of the image perfectly while keeping a comfortable distance away from your subject. This lens is used frequently when photographing portraits and also wildlife.
Depth of Field- The depth of field of a photo is what's in focus. It is the distance of the photo that is sharp between the nearest and farthest objects. The photo below is a perfect example of depth of field. The sharpness of the image is focused on only one subject while all other parts are out of focus.
Chemicals used to develop black and white films- Developer is the first chemical used in the process of developing black and white film. The image first appears on the paper when it is placed in the developer, and it will stay there until the image fully appears. The next step is to use a stop-bath (or just water) to stop the action of the developer. Fixer is the last chemical in the process, it is what makes the photograph's image permanent.
This photo captured a seemingly hectic moment, yet it is very practical because it's just simply a photo of something that could happen any day
People don't typically give much thought to seeing an airplane in the sky but in my life I have spent a lot of time in airports. When I see this image it brings back the feelings I've had throughout the years as I've sat alone in an airport watching the planes come and go as I've awaited mine
