Kelli

objective photo: scissors

emotional photo: soldier seeing his child for the first time.  The raw emotion captured in this photo makes me feel happy for the soldier.

1. Wide angle lens:
can be defined as a lens system on a camera that can cover an angle of view of 60° or more and therefore has a fairly small focal length.  An example of a wide angle lens could be a fish eye lens.  Here is an example of a fish eye photograph that I took in Florence, Italy last week:

 2. Telephoto lens:
a specific construction of long (typically single) focal length photo lenses in which the "physical length of the lens is shorter than the focal length." A regular lens that has a focal length that is longer than what is considered "normal," is not necessarily a telephoto lens. A telephoto lens has to incorporate a rear lens group usually referred to as a "telephoto group."

3. Depht of field:
is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph. A preferred selection depth of field in a focused subject in an image can be subjective. It is the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp. It varies depending on camera type, aperture and focusing distance, although print size and viewing distance can also influence our perception of depth of field.
